Wie wird bewertet? / How i grade?

METHODE:

Platten in optisch sehr gutem zustand werden meistens nur visuell bewertet, jedoch Platten mit deutlichen oberflächen marks (von good - vg+) werden auch akustisch geprüft und dann nach der akustischen qualität gegradet, so wird gewähleistet das alle angebotenen Platten ohne wirkliche beeinträchtigung abspielbar sind außer es wird in der beschr. erwähnt. Bedeuet soviel wie das eine platte in vg zustand noch gut aspielbar ist obwohl sie nicht unbedingt danach aussieht.

TRENDS:

+/- simbulisiert eine abstufung eines jeweiligen gradings. d.h. diese Platte fällt in die Kategorie ist aber einen tick besser (+) oder schlechter (-)

METHOD:

Records in visual good shape will normally also only graded from their visual appereance. Records with with more than lil minor marks (from good to very good+) will be checked by listening to them and then grading the soundquality to make sure that all offered records can be played without problems, except it is mentioned in the description. Means that a very good graded record plays well without significant background noise even it not looks like that.

TRENDS:

+/- stays for a more detailed description of the shape. Means that the record is a litle better (+) or worser (-) than what normaly can be expected in that shape.

VINYL GRADING

STILL SEALED (SS)

Eine noch Orginal verschweißte Platte. Demnach ist die Platte in 100% ungespieltem mint Zustand.

Original factory sealed record that never been opened. Record itself is def. unplayed.

MINT (M)

Platte befindet sich in 1a Zustand. Es sind keinerlei oberflächen kratzer feststellbar. Platte ist ebenfalls clean, d.h. kein staub oder dutzende von fingerabdrücken drauf! Platte sieht ungespielt aus

Record is in perfect shape. No visual marks can be spottet as well there is no dirt or nasty finerprints viewable. The record looks unplayed.

NEAR MINT (NM)

Platte befindet sich top Zustand. Es sind keinerlei wirkliche oberflächen kratzer auszumachen. Evtl. Etwas "wear" welche durch das herausnehmen aus dem sleeve verursacht wird. Oder evtl. ist es eine Platte welche keinerlei oberflächen marks aufweißt aber dafür etwas staubig ist / fingerabdrücke hat...

On a near mint record no real surface mark can be seen, possibly some real light marks can be seen caused taking the record out ouf the sleeve. not looking like wear of using the record.

EXCELLENT (EX)

Platte befindet sich in einem guten Zustand. Es können haarkratzer bis leichte oberflächern kratzer vorhanden seien, welches aber keinen tiefen major marks welche man akustisch stark wahrnimmt einschließt. Platte ist noch sehr gut und zu 90% ohne irgendeine hörnare beschädigung abspielbar.

An excellent record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner. Record surfaces may show some signs of light wear and may have slight scuffs or minor scratches that don't affect that much one's listening experience. An excellent record can have some visible marks, but no major surface marks wich affects realy playing the record.

VERY GOOD (VG)

Platte befindet sich in gebrauchtem Zustand was aber nicht heißt das sie abgenutzt und unbrauchbar ist. Es ist ihr nur anzusehen das sie gebraucht worden ist und dieser gebrauch hat seine spuren in form von einfach erkennbaren oberflächen kratzern (surface marks) zurückgelassen hat. Platte ist gut abspielbar jedoch kann man teilweise die bekannten oberflächen geräusche wahrnehmen, besonders in leisen passagen wie auch bei intro's.

Many of the defects found in a EX record will be more pronounced in a VG disc.  Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as well scratches that will affect the sound.

GOOD (G)

Platte befindet sich in stark gebrauchtem Zustand. Tiefe / Zahlreiche oberflächen kratzer (major surface marks). Kratzer sind deutlich wahrnembar jedoch spielt die Platte natürlich ohne zu springen! (außer es ist angegeben) und ohne übermäiges "popping"...wenn es eine einfach zu findene scheibe ist solltest du nach einer besseren copy suchen, ist es aber etwas wonach du lange gesucht hast und der preis ist dementsprechend fair, greif zu aber halte deine Augen nach einer copy in zufriedenstellendem Zustand auf. Soundqualität wird von den oberflächen schäden teilweise stark beinflußt!

Good does not mean Bad!  A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping.  But it will have significant surface noise and scratches, visible groove wear and major surface marks! If it's a common item, you'll probably find another copy in better shape eventually.  Pass it up.  but if it's something you have been seeking for years, and the price is right, get it... but keep looking to upgrade. Scratches def. taking affect on the soundquality!

COVER GRADING

STILL SEALED (SS)

Eine noch Orginal verschweißte Platte. Demnach das cover in Neu  Zustand.

Original factory sealed record. Cover normaly is mint under the shrink wrap.

MINT (M)

Cover ist in 1a Zustand. Sieht aus wie eine Scheibe aus dem Laden welche bei Neuheiten steht....

On a mint cover youre not ging to find any defects...looks like a new record from a shop. 

NEAR MINT (NM)

Cover befindet sich in topzustand und sollte keine wirklichen beschädigungen haben, kleine zeichen das das cover schon älter ist sind ok.

The cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect.  No cut-out holes, either.  And of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. In general, if not for a couple minor things wrong with it, this would be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX)

Cover befindet sich in gutem zustand, es sind jedoch gebrauchspuren zu erkennen, wie leichte/kleinere knicke, teilweise abgeriffelte Seiten, ring wear (abdruck des vinyls auf dem cover). Ebenfalls kann kein cover mit cut out markierung besser seien als EX da ja ein beinträchtigung vorliegt ungeachtet in welchem zustand sich der rest befindet.

Cover will might have some  ring wear, lighter turned-up corners, or a not bad seam split. Those or other damage can be found but the cover overall is not looking bad. Also every cover that got a cut out mark cannot be better than ex! no matter what shape the item is even if it is mint elsewhere.

VERY GOOD (VG)

Cover befindet sich in gebrauchtem Zustand, dementsprechend sieht es auch aus. Beschädigungen wie Knicke, abgeriffelte Seiten, heavy ring wear (abdruck des vinyls auf dem cover) usw. müssen erwartet werden.

Cover will have some defects like a litle stronger ring wear, turned-up corners. A jacket or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. It just looks used...

GOOD (G)

Cover befindet sich in stark gebrauchtem zustand welches bedeutet das es beschädigungen aufweist wie in vg beschrieben, diese jedoch zu stark sind oder noch andere sachen wie wasserschäden dazukommen. Cover ist ebenfalls evtl. eingerissen. Beschädigungen sind zusammenengenommen zu hoch als das man darüber wegsehen kann!

Cover will have defects like mentioned in vg but they are to strong or other defects appeares like watre damage. It looks more abused than used.  

FAIR (F)

Cover noch in einem stück......sonst abgenutzt und mit vielen beschädigungen. Insg. Sehr Schlecht erhalten!

Cover is fucked up. Too many defects....unacceptable shape!

POOR (P)

Cover ist müll, man erstezt es besser durch ein nautrales cover.

Cover is and looks like trash. Better replace it with a plain sleeve.
